Kakariki my pet bird

Yeah, they do look like wearing cap lol. Since they're so naughty I thin k of them as pirate hats and masks.
They were handraised an will sit on shoulder or head but are very restless and always wanting to explore and chew on things (they love polystyrene cooler boxes). They nibble ears and other parts and this gets painful as they don't have a hard bite, but they grab and tug sharply and the sharp tip of beak digs in. It's painful to be given a kiss which suddenly draws blood!
They are real characters with really amusing calls (mostly beep beep!) but need a lot of play room, and some specialist food too. I have been making up a meal from shredded aple and Insectivore mix, which they love. Trying them on pumpkin today!

their wings were clipped, but still fast with jumping or hoping especially the female one. she can fly up to the top of aircond unit or top of cupboards. dare not take them outside. another pic attached: busy nibbling ear...

palm cockatoo not common enough in captivity. they're hard to get. hardly see them in ads for sale.
